This prayer is the school's entry to the Oakland Diocese's 50th Anniversary book. A reflection written by Alexia Gomez, 8th Grade (Class of 2012)
A place that takes you far
Far, a short word for a long distance
A small school with big futures
Huge hopes, gigantic dreams.
Where if someone needs help
Everyone extends a hand
You’re never alone.
It resembles your home, away from home.
A place that follows the will of God.
Accepts all no matter what culture.
It doesn’t matter we’re in the end
What’s important is your future.
Everyone is family after all,
We all look the same through His eyes,
The One who can turn storms
into blue skies.
Where God’s children meet
In life changing prayer.
A close knit community, with so much
opportunity, we believe in equality.
Yes, we care….
Yes, we love …
We believe and trust in He who is above…
It may not be a tasteful fruit,
But it’s better than that.
It’s the tree itself that bears it.
The caregiver that
Quenches its thirst
The myriad of roots
That go on forever.
It is a place like no other.
A place I love.
Where you hear a tiger’s roar
In its fierceness, we adore.
It is the place where
The Lost are found,
The found can be lost.
Together we find our way.
Welcome to St. Anthony School
Amen.
